Coexist: Polemics against Religion and the Myth of Religious Violence

A little over a year ago, I gave a talk at an Interfaith Symposium in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The popular "Coexist" bumper sticker contains an implicit argument--it assumes that different religious faiths, by definition, want to attack or annihilate each other. I explored what William Cavanaugh has called the "myth of religious violence" with a view toward how this should affect interfaith dialogue.  The video below contains the audio from the presentation merged with the PowerPoint.

    About the blog

My thoughts on how following Jesus calls us to go with the grain of the universe and against the grain of the world. I love the Bible, theology, and philosophy and how they intersect with just about anything else.
